I run a small manufacturing business with 500 employees. Should I be worried about GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) issues? And if so, how can my IT help?

"We did a survey of our customers and, from 100 completed surveys, 80 per cent expected the burden of GRC to increase. Of these, over 94 per cent stated that they expected software solutions to help ease this burden and over 50 per cent were planning to increase compliance budgets accordingly (full copies of the complete survey are available on request). So to answer your first question: yes," says Robert Dent, CEO of Achiever Business Solutions.

"Second, there are software solutions that can help. GRC (Governance and Risk Compliance) software platforms that deliver support for multiple legislative and regulatory compliance requirements will play a big part. Home-grown or point solutions can only go so far in meeting these demands, but a single solution – one that addresses multiple areas of compliance – could deliver efficiency and real business improvement across an organisation. It's a big issue, so be sure to ask the experts about what they could do to help your business tackle GRC."
